The India Whisky DX Group, now in its 27th year!
We are a group of radio operators that wish to make DX (long distance) contacts with other radio operators and exchange QSL cards. We use a Post Office Box number. This is used so that we do not have to give out our home address over the air. (You never know who is listening on the side) It can also help because overseas operators get to know the P.O.Box address and if conditions are difficult it can make the difference in getting that QSL exchange. The India Whisky Group (which stands for Isle of Wight) was formed when C B became legal in 1981. Below is our group QSL card, Many operators also have cards printed to their own design. It is not unusual to receive a pack containing several different cards and other local information! Using our Amateur license we can still use the P.O. Box to exchange QSL cards, just go to www.qrz.com/ sign up using your amateur call and use P.O.Box 16, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 9WF as your address. Then you can ask contacts to QSL direct saying you are on QRZ.COM *** *** NEW MEMBERS *** The India Whisky DX Group is open for membership @ £3 (3 UKP) per year. You will receive your unit number and for use of the P.O.Box until April next year.
There is an optional Membership package which contains: Membership Certificate, Frequency chart, Operators Prefix list, Phonetic Alphabet, 10 code, Q code, QSL cards etc. @ £5 (5 UKP) Extra. (Much of this is laminated) All members are reminded that if you do not live on the Isle of Wight you are required to send in some S.A.E’s Click here for application form that you can print out and fill in. Or send your name & address, with telephone number to 26 India Whisky 223, PO Box 16, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 9WF, England. with £3 (3 UKP) or £8 (8 UKP)
